Dev Nexus was an excellent event with great talks and great speakers. I was very glad to attend and speak and made a lot of great networking connections. So I'm definitely coming back next year and I'll recommend it to my friends.

It was a fun event. I really liked going there. Location is great. the venue is great. had no problems there. I mean, it was fun. It was really nice being in person getting to speak, getting to be at our booth, getting to see, uh, sessions. I love it. I wish you could bring this on the road, bring it to, you know, Philadelphia, California all over the country. Thanks a lot.

Good event
What did you like best about the event?
Good content, good networking. Nice layout (made it easy to visit booths you wanted).
What could the organizers do to improve the event?
Would have been nice for all talks, not just some, to have been recorded. Would be nice for speakers to get anonymous feedback from audience.

High-quality event with very good speakers, tech support needs improvements
What did you like best about the event?
The speaker lineup was very impressive, the pairing with the JC summit and the Speaker Dinners and Parties.
What could the organizers do to improve the event?
Tech Support was below average. No-one was present in my room prior to my talk and no mics were present in the room, so I had to deliver my talk without any amplicitation. Also, keynote speaker Jacqui Read was not mic'ed up properly causing audio feedback.

Great talks, great people! Awesome speakers make an amazing conference!
What did you like best about the event?
I especially enjoyed the women in tech breakfast, it was awesome! The speakers day was in a league of its own, I never had such a well organized and cool event as a speaker at other conferences before! The speakers were well selected and there were a lot of them, which made it a great opportunity to see everyone and an awesome opportunity for networking, I met a lot of new people. The sponsors were also great, all of the sponsors I talked to were very nice and enthusiastic. The talks were great, I especially hope Glenn and Nerando manage to sneak their "How to conference" talk in next year as well (maybe even as a keynote?), I feel like it is very beneficial and underrated. All keynotes were awesome. The speakers gifts are fantastic, I really like the jacket that now became one of my favorite jackets already. I really appreciate that all of the code for the Devnexus website is open source, this really shows the spirit of the community of the conference. I really enjoyed the energy from all the people, moments like Shar being so excited winning the award as if he won the Olympics and afterwards Chris demonstrating the minimum bar of excitement required, truly made the conference something special that I will never forget.
What could the organizers do to improve the event?
First off, don't be discouraged by the length of my feedback, all in all the positive aspects far outweighed any of the feedback I'm about to provide. But I wanted to give you detailed feedback and provide ideas to make it as easy as possible for you to improve upon it and give you a perspective from someone who visited the conference for the first time. I first thought all sessions were recorded, which is why I only went and saw the talks that were critically relevant to me and spent a lot of my time talking to the sponsors, as I know this is usually something visitors neglect and I wanted to make sure the sponsors would want to sponsor Devnexus again next year. I would prefer if all sessions were recorded, even if only the slides and audio were recorded and if they were released with quite a bit of delay (half a year or a year later). This way, it's still possible to see talks that speakers do not have the opportunity of holding at other conferences to still see them or refer to them later if you didn't write down something. An alternative could be to only publicly publish certain talks while making recordings of all sessions available to Devnexus ticket holders (although I do understand that brings in additional complexity). The alternative could be extended to additionally offer "recording only tickets" for a lower price to people who aren't able to visit the conference but would want to see all talks, which could make it more worthwhile, as I don't think this option would make anyone who currently visits the conference to only get the recordings. I'm a bit unsure on how this was planned to go, but I expected someone to be there to help me setup the mic 15-30 mins before my talk, but there was none. If every speaker is expected to do it by themself I would've preferred some instructions to make sure we are doing it right. I would like if there was a unified way in which all participants can give feedback to talks of speakers, like there is at JCON. While I noticed this isn't used by a lot of participants, I still think it makes it easier as there is no need for each speaker to setup a form or such and ask participants for feedback. It also would be nice if we speakers could upload the slides on the website so they could be downloaded from the schedule after the conference, at least by the ticket holders. We could in theory all submit PRs to have them added, we should all be developers after all 😉 Maybe 14 parallel sessions are a bit too much, especially with the fact that not all of them are recorded makes it very difficult to choose which one to go to. An option would be to shorten the sessions down to for example 45 minutes or offer some lightning talks that are shorter and some longer. While I agree all the awards announced on Thursday at 5 pm were definitely deserved and well chosen, I felt the communication on how the award holders were chosen could be improved. What I liked was that with Shar for example you mentioned that it was the most personal, which made the choice obvious. For the best speaker award however for example I was a bit confused as to how they were chosen, as there were talks that ended just mere minutes before the awards were announced (and it seems quite difficult to me to make a decision that quickly) and I don't think there was a panel of selected people that as a collective have seen each talk (or was there?). This is a very minor thing, but I didn't initially see the door from which you could enter the speaker's lounge and was confused why I couldn't enter it from the other door. I'm aware the right door to enter it was clearly and very well labeled (I definitely wouldn't change that), but the venue is just so big that I somehow always missed it when walking by it. I think this could be easily fixed by putting a sign on the door that is locked saying "Please use the other door to enter the speaker's lounge". I think this might be difficult to change, but it was sometimes difficult to see projector screen as it was blocked by heads of other people. As long as you didn't sit in the first row, even if you initially chose a seat where you could see everything, as soon as someone sits in front of you, a part of the screen is blocked. For me being taller this wasn't that big of a deal but I heard from other participants struggling. Maybe it could help to not align each row of seats perfectly but to offset each of them by a bit, or in rooms where possible to install the screens higher up. Holding the conference in a cinema could be ideal to avoid this issue, I just don't know if that kind of venue is a possibility. This is probably more a matter of taste, but I thought the t-shirt everybody got with just the Devnexus logo on it was a bit too minimalistic, I would have preferred to have some kind of design on it, like on the speaker's shirts. I felt like the music at the speaker's dinner was too loud, it was very difficult to talk to other people. I would've either preferred to have no music at all or if needed to have it quietly play in the background.
