I am an academic and a researcher working in the Department of Physiology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka. My main research activities have looked into the epidemiology, pathophysiology and management of FGIDs in Sri Lanka. I am the recipient of the IFFGD Developing Nation Research Award-2018 which is awarded by International Foundation for Functional Gastrointestinal Disorders (IFFGD). My current research activities include exploring the epidemiology of FGIDs in different communities in Sri Lanka and assessment of autonomic functions and pain-related behaviours.
