Cristy Garratt is an energetic leader with a passion for creating engaging and informative content. With a specialty in video production and social media strategy, she uses a mix of gut instinct and data to grow digital audiences from virtually nothing to in the millions. She has more than a decade’s worth of experience in creating premium content across news, business and entertainment verticals with lean, global teams that punch above their weight. She is constantly looking for the next big opportunity, whether it be a series, platform or revenue stream, ensuring she helps news organizations grow and retain a new generation of loyal viewers. As the Head of Digital Video and Social Media at CNBC International, Cristy is responsible for the network’s original digital video content and social media channels, managing a team of content creators in London and Singapore. She has launched a number of new series across multiple platforms, such as CNBC Explains, CNBC Reports, My Biggest Lessons and Journey Through. Under her direction, CNBC International's social media following has grown to more than three million. Prior to CNBC, Cristy worked at ITN Productions as Digital Editor and Communities and Engagement Manager, and before that, as a multimedia journalist and fill-in anchor in the United States. Cristy holds a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from the Medill School at Northwestern University, where she served as president of the university’s chapter of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists and news director of the Northwestern News Network.
