The world is becoming increasingly conscious about what we eat and how our choices impact the environment. People want to know where their food comes from, how it’s made, how healthy it is, and the size of their food-footprint. With this comes the challenge of feeding an ever-growing population sustainably. How can the food industry and wider society achieve this? My journey towards answering some of these questions started when I was a child. I was born into a family of academics so education has always played a big part in my life. Economy and ecology became key words in my lexicon. My interest in these topics grew stronger during my Bachelor studies in Environmental Systems Engineering and Masters in Business Administration, where I learned about environmental policies alongside law, business, and economics. I believe it was my curiosity about different cultures and my passion for sustainability that took me on a 25-year journey across the world. During this time, I led multicultural teams in various industries, working on valuations, strategic planning, business development, branding, innovation, and sales. What kept me going was a continuous quest for improvement, whether it was bettering myself, my teams, the company, or society at large. Working together is the only way forward if we are to solve complex global issues. At work, I see my role as a facilitator of change. I love helping people succeed, watching them step outside of their comfort zone, and becoming better than they thought they could be. I believe that change starts with empowerment. Empowered people inspire teams. Creative teams push companies. Innovative companies influence the world’s agenda. The challenges we face are too big for one person or a single company to solve. That’s why I would like to use my LinkedIn as a platform to talk and connect with people that share my vision for a nourished and sustainable planet. Let’s connect.
