I offer a unique health-focused Inclusive Interior Design service combining Interior Design and Occupational Therapy for people in the Domestic and small Commercial sectors. The service is based in Bristol and available UK-wide. I hold professional qualifications in Occupational Therapy AND in Interior Design, and I have extensive knowledge and experience in this specialist field. My passion is designing aesthetic safe environments that enable people of all ages who are currently well or who have minor or major health conditions to enjoy dignified living. We live in the 21st century - where the focus is on aesthetic design and wellbeing. I firmly believe that décor and space planning are key factors in maintaining physical mental and emotional health and also social interaction. Unfortunately, many people live in homes that resemble clinics – uninspiring and depressing surroundings filled with ugly equipment - a constant reminder of ‘disability’ rather than ‘ability’. It does not have to be this way. Everyone has a right to choose an environment that suits the needs of both individual and family and, if they so wish, be able to achieve and enjoy aspirational living. Using my Occupational Therapy skills, I am able to risk -assess high street or bespoke solutions for safe functional use, and so wherever possible I incorporate these in my designs in preference to disability- specific products. As an Interior Designer I use an interactive 3D CAD Interior Design programme that enables clients to engage in the design process and by working together we create beautiful harmonious spaces that are stimulating, future-proofed, incorporate specialist health needs ‘invisibly’ contain a ‘wow factor’ and enhance rather than devalue property prices. Basically we MAKE FUNCTIONAL FABULOUS.
