After graduating with a BA, I worked as a public servant for the Province of New Brunswick as a Human Resources Advisor for the Strategic Initiatives group for the Department of Education. Working with curriculum developers, policy analysts and teachers piqued an interest in the field of Education and led me to obtain a Bachelor of Education at the University of New Brunswick. While working towards the BEd, I also received a Certificate to Teach English as a Second Language. My language teaching career sent me abroad to Casablanca, Morocco where I spent two years working with the British Council as a facilitator, teaching English as a foreign language, and then on to Calgary where I worked with international students for 7 years at Global Village as both an instructor and events coordinator. In early 2022, I joined the SkillGain team at Prospect Human Services and have been enjoying the rewarding role of Literacy Facilitator - helping clients build their employment skills and behavioural competencies.
