Currently employed by Digital Health and Care Wales as the National Clinical Informatics Lead (Nursing). The role involves drawing on previous experience to standardise nursing documentation across Wales across all healthcare settings including the development of governance processes, policies and procedures to support standardisation and inform research. The overarching aim is to improve standards of documentation and achieve a “Once for Wales” electronic record in collaboration with governmental and national nursing leaders. Work to date has seen NHS Wales being awarded the Nursing Times award for technology and data. The unique mix of clinical knowledge and technical ability have translated into transformative improvements for patients and clinicians resulting in being awarded Innovation and improvement awards in both the user and patient categories by Cerner Middle East. Holds a MSc in Health Informatics and has been invited to speak at international conferences including HIMMS, CHIME and the Florence Nightingale Foundation on the subject of clinical informatics.
