Jason McIntyre, Director of Sustainability, is the internal sustainability and ESG subject matter expert at Affinius Capital (formerly known as USAA Real Estate). He is responsible for the integration, monitoring, performance, and reporting of Environmental, Social, and Governance, issues at the fund, portfolio, and company-level. Jason oversees the firm’s ESG stakeholder engagement efforts, ranging from tenants, employees, partners, and investors . Additionally, Jason sits on the Affinius Capital ESG Advisory Council, which consists of senior management, fund/portfolio managers, asset managers, property management, and external consultants. Jason has been at Affinius Capital (formerly known as USAA Real Estate) 9 years in this capacity and has 14 years of sustainability and real estate experience. Jason was the recent BOMA International Sustainability and Resilience Committee Chair (2020-2022). Prior to joining USAA Real Estate Company, Jason was a LEED Consultant at Envision Realty Services, a top green building consultancy firm based in Sacramento, CA. As a consultant, Jason was the team project manager on 17 LEED projects across the United States, earning Silver, Gold and Platinum certification levels. In addition to project management, Jason provided consultation services including executive gap analyses and proposal packages. Jason received his Bachelor of Science in Facilities and Property Management and a Management Minor from Brigham Young University. Jason is a LEED Accredited Professional with a specialty in Operations and Maintenance (LEED AP O+M). Jason also holds the FMP credential (Facility Management Professional) issued by IFMA (International Facility Management Association).
