When I sold DreamWorks Animation in 2016, I woke up the next day and asked myself: If you were twenty-three and starting your career, what would you be doing? The answer was simple. I would be living in Silicon Valley and working in digital technology. The role and impact that technology has played in every facet of our lives over this past decade has been monumental. I believe this will be even greater over the next decade. The possibilities are exciting and there are many brilliant entrepreneurs with phenomenal ideas that I’m confident will revolutionize many industries and I want to be a part of that revolution. There’s no question that technology can improve our lives for the better, but unfortunately, that convenience also comes with risks. Particularly when it comes to our security. By living so much of our lives online, we’re putting ourselves and our families at risk, and most of us don’t even realize it. When I look back at my tech habits, I get embarrassed. I’d go as far as to call myself a digital dummy. Although I have benefited immensely from technology throughout my career, I know little about it. That’s why I was excited to partner up with people who had the knowledge and experience. I've played many roles throughout my career; they all revolve around storytelling, and I don’t see this next opportunity being any different. Consumers need to understand the magnitude of the problem they face online and how vulnerable they can be, but they also need to know that there is a solution. I believe that is the next big story that needs to be told, and I’m excited to help tell it.
