As a consultant, I often help businesses gain competitive advantage through the creation of human, organisation and social capital supported by effective leadership, organisation design, HR and management practices, organisation development interventions, the use of digital and social media tools, and strategic approaches to workforce analytics etc. I speak at conferences and events around the world and write and blog for various organisations too. I am the author of 'Strategic Human Capital Management' (2006) and 'The Social Organization' (2017). I have contributed book chapters to 'The Executive's Guide to Integrated Talent Management', 'The Talent Management Handbook', and 'For Love or Money'. I am also the co-author of 'Building Better HR Departments' with Dave Ulrich. My experience includes 30 years in engineering, IT, change management and HR (including as an HR / OD Director). I am based in the UK but work globally and I spend a lot of time in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and elsewhere.
