Jose leads PayPal’s Blockchain, Crypto and Digital Currencies business unit, focused on ensuring end-to-end management of PayPal’s underlying cryptocurrency product, technology infrastructure, partnerships and regulatory foundations to drive continued growth in the space Before PayPal, Jose led Beyond Core, the advanced science and technology unit at BBVA, where he led teams working on artificial intelligence, data and privacy, and decentralized protocols. Jose also ran PayPal's Spanish South American business and drove the company's strategic agenda in Emerging Markets. Before his first cycle at PayPal, he was a founding General Partner at Quercus Equity Partners, an early investor and member of the Board at low-cost airline clickair, and a consultant with McKinsey & Company
