I've always found life to be more rewarding a couple of steps outside of my comfort zone, after all that's where life really begins... After graduating with a first class degree in biology in 2015, I became first a lab scientist, then an ecologist. Achieving a life time dream wasn't quite what I was expecting. As much as I really did love each day, I wasn't stretched, I wasn't pushed. I took a jump into another world and started my corporate career, first as a sales executive at Hilton. My eyes were opened to the world of business. The quick exchanges. The chase. The gambles. The highs. The lows. The total thrill of making something work; not with tools and equipment, but with thoughts and ideas and hard work. I progressed through different roles, a senior sales executive, then a sales manager, expanding my knowledge and growing my abilities. It was then time to start looking at account management as my next goal, borne from a passion for outstanding service, for innovating contract fulfilment and for producing results. I took another leap of faith and ended up in within a leading healthcare managed service provider, working as a senior fulfilment executive to service NHS clients, managing their temporary staffing requirements. From day one, the difference was clear. They tell you to find a job you truly love, and you'll never work a day again. From there, I have progressed into firstly regional, then national public sector healthcare management. 2020 brought as many opportunities as it did challenges, and I moved into the Department of Health and Social Care, developing into an experienced delivery lead. Outside of work, I am a mental health advocate and motivational speaker - discussing my career, management of my own battles including Lupus and much more.
