Koen is driven by the aim to make healthcare delightful, personalized & preventive. He published his vision in 2 books. 'Sick no more' describes how we will transition from reactive sickcare to pro-active healthcare. 'Your guide to Delight' is a roadmap towards creating health, dealing with change, introducing our personal Digital Twin. Koen doesn't believe one can predict the future. But his novel 'Delight Thinking' methodology helps organisations to create the future. His ultra inspiring keynotes & ideation workshops on the Future of healthcare or the Digital & DNA revolution truly ignite pharma and lifesciences plays, tech and insurance companies, hospitals to take action, to develop digital health strategies, and to fully exploit existing resources & capabilities. Therefore he founded Healthskouts, to inspire, co-create, map science and technology spaces, conceptualize, prototype and fuel digital companions. These combine Real World data with design & business model innovations into novel experiences redefining Health. Healtskouts serves major industrial plays & deals with tiny start-ups they often help shape. Healthskouts also curates the public database of certified digital health Apps & devices. See koenkas.com Koen is Prof Molecular oncology & digital health @Ghent University, BE, chairs the scientific committee of the European Cancer Prevention Org; co-chairs the healthcare workgroup of the Digital Twin Consortium. He is ambassador for healthtech experience centre Health House, and for Belgian citizen-centric health data platform We Are (built on SOLID). He serves on the Advisory Board of 5 pioneering healthcare companies. a digital health startup incubator and an investor. Koen was CSO Oncology @Thrombogenics/Oxurion where he spun out Oncurious and developed a novel drug for pediatric brain cancer. Before he was founder & CSO of Pronota, building a protein biomarker discovery platform and pipeline of 4 diagnostic programs. He was prior to that Director Drug discovery @Galapagos. Previously he set up & directed the Cancer drug discovery program @Tibotec (now J&J). He started his career elucidating the molecular basis of 2 cancers. He is available as independent director to company boards, member of advisory boards on innovation / digital health strategy & advisor to start-ups.
