Louis Willacy is the Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel at Tari Labs, developer of the Tari base layer distributed ledger protocol designed for the issuance and management of digital assets, such as event tickets, loyalty points and digital collectibles. In his role, Louis oversees global operations, finance, talent development, regulatory strategy and commercial transactions. He is responsible for ensuring Tari’s transformational technology fulfills its promise and is widely adopted. Louis has more than two decades of experience advising technology companies on how best to bring their various businesses to market and is an expert in working with highly complex technologies and the challenging issues they implicate. He began his career focused on M&A and corporate securities transactions, and has spent the bulk of his career serving as a trusted advisor to technology company CEOs navigating growth and risk-mitigation strategies. Prior to Tari, Louis led cross-functional teams at The Meet Group, Ifwe, Tagged and The Deal. He started his career at the NY-based law firm Dewey Ballantine LLP. Louis is an active leader in education-focused nonprofits, and currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of GO Public Schools, and as a member of the Board of Trustees of St. Paul’s Episcopal School. Previously, he served on the Board of Trustees of the People’s Community Partnership Federal Credit Union Louis received his JD from Columbia Law School (Columbia Law Review) and his BA from Wesleyan University (Government).
