Mariam is a proactive and self-motivated Emirati with a multidisciplinary background in renewable and nuclear energy, natural resource management, change management, and the management of technology and innovation. As head of Sustainability & Business Excellence in Etihad, she supported a pro-sustainability transformation within the organization, making it a thought leader in sustainable aviation focused on cleaner fuels, operational efficiency and carbon offsets. She is an active sustainability expert serving taskforces within the GCAA, IATA and ICAO. Mariam has also worked as an instructor in the department of Interdisciplinary Studies at Zayed University where she taught Environmental and Natural Sciences. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health from Zayed University and an MPhil in Engineering for Sustainable Development from the University of Cambridge.
