Maureen is an entrepreneur and CEO with two decades of tech and media/entertainment experience, building and launching culture-defining, mass market products within startups and Fortune 500 corporations. Her career reflects a track record of creating digital product brands that define new genres at the bleeding edge of tech media, building products that reach more than 30 mill customers a day (FarmVille games) in industries ranging from e-commerce (eBay) to games (Zynga) to films and VR experiences (Pixar, Baobab), building and scaling teams and attracting luminary executives and board members. She predicts market paradigm shifts, defines products for these markets, assembles legendary teams, and launches products with a track-record of success. Maureen is the CEO, co-founder of Baobab Studios, the 9-time Emmy Award winning independent animation studio with a track record of building franchiseable IP and interactive worlds. Formerly, she was VP of Games at Zynga, where she reported directly to the CEO and built and oversaw 3 game studios including the FarmVille's, which contributed 40% of the company’s revenues and 120 mill MAU - the largest profit center of Zynga. Previously, she worked on Pixar's Toy Story 3 film and at eBay in product management and UX design. Maureen was named one of ‘The Most Creative People of the Year’ by Ad Age, Top 100 Influential Asians by A100, and Variety crowned her as one of the execs to watch earning a spot on their ‘Top Digital Creatives’ list. She’s been covered by The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Fortune, USA Today, The New York Times, and The LA Times. Her insights have been shared on the main stage at both the Web Summit and Tech Crunch Disrupt. A thought leader and champion for technology and entertainment convergence, she’s keynoted and presented at F8, SxSW, Sundance, Cannes, DICE, E3, and GDC. Maureen serves on both private and non-profit boards. She is an Emmy juror for the interactive category, council member for the World Economic Forum's VR/AR and metaverse councils, and member of the PGA. An advocate for diversity in entertainment, she casts women and minorities in lead roles (Oprah, John Legend, Ali Wong, Diego Luna, etc) and produced the 1st award-winning indigenous world view animated film. Maureen has been recognized for her philanthropy by being appointed to Fast Company’s Impact Council and keynotes on BIPOC topics at conferences such as Grace Hopper, Fast Company, and Women in Animation. She graduated with an MBA from Harvard Business School and Phi Beta Kappa with a BS from Stanford University.
