I have more than 20 years of experience in international banking, with a specialization in development finance, risk management and credit risk management of retail banks with a focus on very small, small and medium-sized businesses (MSME). During my career, I have managed teams of up to 20 employees as well as successfully run a retail bank with more than 1,100 employees. With operational experience in both developing and mature financial markets, I concluded landmark financial development deals and contributed to financial sector development in Romania. I participated in the establishment of a new bank and have experience in risk management activities of an international banking group. My short-and long-term work experience in the following countries: Albania, Armenia, Bosnia & Herzegowina, Bulgaria, Columbia, DR Congo, Georgia, Germany, Ghana, Kosovo, El Salvador, Mozambique, Macedonia, Moldavia, Nicaragua, Romania, Serbia, Ukraine, and the US. I have served as Member of the Supervisory Board and as Chairman of the Audit Committee for several banks and institutions. For the past six years, I have been a member of the Group IT Steering Committee at an international banking group. My teaching experience includes lecturing at the ProCredit Academy in Germany as well as at the Regional ProCredit Academies in Macedonia and Columbia. I hold an M.B.A. in International Finance and an M.A. in International Trade & Development Policy from The George Washington University.
