Dr. Gordon is a genomics pioneer who has been recognized with honors, special awards, multiple grants, and fellowships in cancer research, and translational genomics. She is a prolific medical writer and rose to prominence co-writing a nationally acclaimed book, Positive Results Making the Best Decisions When You're at High Risk for Breast or Ovarian Cancer. The book focuses on “previvors,” who are people with an understanding of how to manage their breast and ovarian cancer risk. Dr. Gordon has also been invited to lecture on hereditary cancer and cancer prevention nationally and internationally. Professionally, Dr. Gordon has many roles. She works as the Regional Medical Director of the Clinical Genetics & Genomics program and as the Chair of the Commission on Cancer Integrated Network Cancer Program for Providence Southern California. As a Professor of Genetics at the St. John Cancer Institute, and Professor of Medicine at UCLA Geffen School of Medicine, she is active in training the next generation of clinicians in genomic medicine. In business, Dr. Gordon is using her science, research, technology and understanding of what drives providers, to deliver solutions that fuel her passion to equitably bring genomics to all, across their lifetime. Dr. Gordon is passionate about holistic approaches to health and disease prevention with a focus on social determinants of health and equity. She completed a fellowship in integrative medicine and continues to research the use of integrative techniques for assisting those with cancer and other serious illness. Her drive is to have “more tools in the toolbox” to empower patients and help them make choices that are best for their well-being and believes genomics is the foundation for all wellness-based care.
