In the management board of Scholz & Volkmer I am responsible for User Experience Design and the sustainable client business of our agency. I am thrilled by the opportunity to create value for brands by creating value for people and the planet. That’s why I developed the „Shared Value“ strategy for our agency in collaboration with the founder Michael Volkmer. Our methods are designed to drive change as well as brand equity. We do not only design projects and strategies for our clients but also develop and run a range of sustainable products and services of our own. I have 20+ years experience working with brands ranging from Mercedes-Benz, Deutsche Bahn, Riese & Müller (eBikes), Eurobike, STIHL and WMF to NGOs like Greenpeace as well as cities and ministries. My expertise is in strategy and design for digital products, services and business models, ranging from realtime-data-cockpits for car owners to mobility apps for the customers of Deutsche Bahn. I do a range of activist side projects as well as lecturing and writing on what design can do. Since twelve years I curate and co-moderate the see-Conference, one of Germanys biggest design-conferences, focussing on design, technology and social issues. I am convinced that in the next 5 to 10 years, innovation will not be driven technologically, but socially. It’s the behavior of people and communities that is relevant for positive change and business. Digital technology is just the enabler. Digital service design needs to play a vital role in making trends like the circular economy and sustainable businesses work for people. I am a passionate ultralight hiker. To walk long distance alone in the wilderness with just the bare necessities has a deep impact also on my work: Doing more with less.
