I am the Associate Director of Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT) for Umoja supporting their gene therapy viral vector product portfolio. In this role, I am the upstream expert and lead a small team of scientists and engineers in process development, optimization, and scale-up to pilot manufacturing. I also advise on upstream technologies for other products and DOE optimization design and analysis. I also enjoy helping my team develop their scientific and process related skills. Specialties: Project and people leadership, sterile mammalian cell culture, cell transfection (plasmid and siRNA), microbial fermentation, upstream optimization and scale-up, media development, process robustness modeling, LEAN/Six Sigma green belt certified, assay development, HPLC, immunohistochemistry, microscopy, continuous centrifugation, depth-filtration & ultrafiltration.
