Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education, Experience & Employability) and professor of astrophysics at Swinburne University of Technology, supporting the Future Ready Learners strategic initiatives and the learning ecosystem at Swinburne. Overseeing the Learning Transformations Unit, Student Engagement, Employability, Swinburne Student Life, and Student Administration & Library Services. Leading three institute-wide transformation programs: the Work Integrated Learning (WIL) strategy refresh which will see all student engage in a series of scaffolded WIL experiences, the Digital & Blended Learning strategy, and Adobe Creative Campus and digital literacies. Champion of innovation in learning & teaching and research excellence, and passionate advocate for STEM education and women into STEM. Extensive leadership experience in Higher Education. Chair of Academic Board and Swinburne Student Life Board. Co-founder and past chair of both the International Astronomical Union Working Group for Women in Astronomy and the Women in Astronomy Chapter of the Astronomical Society of Australia, and Swinburne lead for the Science in Australia Gender Equity (SAGE) Pilot. Club Melbourne Ambassador. Astrophysics research focuses on planet formation using the world’s largest radio telescopes and supercomputers. Served on a range of national and international astronomical committees and advisory groups, and always happy to engage in astronomy/science public outreach.
