Director, Policy, Operations and Change in Passenger Services, part of Rail Group in the Department for Transport, leading a team of 120 staff. Responsibilities include: - leading development and implementation of policy on passenger issues, such as fares, ticketing, accessibility and stations - directing the team responsible for public sector rail operations and providing oversight to and holding to account the Directors of DOHL, the company established to own and manage public sector rail companies - development of policy on rail operational issues such as performance, industrial relations, rolling stock, and train service specification, and ensuring policy is implemented successfully through rail operators - directing a team responsible for major industry change projects, such as the implementation of smart ticketing and the launch of new Railcards - as a member of the Department's Rail Strategy & Policy Board and Rail Investment Board, reviewing and challenging investment proposals and policy development across Rail Group - leading development of a new commercial model for how passenger services are delivered, implementing the key recommendations for reform in the Williams Rail Review
