Bio

After starting in Anheuser-Busch InBev’s prestigious Global Management Trainee program in the summer of 2013, Spencer Gordon has progressed quickly through seven roles. He now serves as the Group VP of Connections + draftLine at Anheuser-Busch, leading a 185-person team and $1B P&L. In this role, he’s responsible for Anheuser-Busch’s Media, Digital, Sponsorship, Experiential, Entertainment, Commerce, Web3.0 and In-House Creative Agency (draftLine) across all brands in the US. Previously, Spencer led the digital strategy, content and innovation for the full Anheuser-Busch portfolio. In addition, Spencer created draftLine, AB’s first internal digital creative agency which now consists of 135 people working across 5 locations (NYC, LA, AUS, MIA, STL) and over 50 brands. As a result of the team’s creative efforts, draftLine was named as a top-5 in-house creative agency in the world in 2020 (One Show) and the #1 In-House Agency in the World in 2022 (London International Awards). draftLine also helped propel Anheuser-Busch to becoming the Creative Marketer of the Year at Cannes (2021, 2022) and the Most Effective Marketer in the World at Effie (2021). On top of draftLine, Spencer helped ABInBev expand into the metaverse by creating a global NFT business supporting all brands in the portfolio. Prior to draftLine, Spencer led the digital content and media strategy for Bud Light, America’s #1 beer brand. Under his leadership, Bud Light’s digital ROI improved by 200% and was routinely ranked as the top beer brand in digital by L2. Later, as a Sr. Media Manager, Spencer expanded his responsibilities to include oversight of the total media portfolio for Bud Light and the company’s Flavored Malt Beverage Portfolio. Spencer also worked on Brand Communications for Michelob ULTRA, helping to orchestrate the 2018 Super Bowl campaign featuring Chris Pratt, which has become the best performing campaign in the brand’s history. Spencer is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis where he triple majored in Finance, Marketing and International Business. In February of 2021, Spencer graduated from the MBA program at The Kelley School of Business.
