I have a keen interest in healthcare quality and have worked in clinical governance for over 7 years. With the ever changing landscape of healthcare and increasing financial pressures faced by the NHS, there is even greater scrutiny on the quality of healthcare services and the onus is on provider organisations to continue to improve the quality of services within these financial constraints. There has never been a more important time to focus on the quality and safety of healthcare services. As Head of Patient Safety and Quality, I am in a unique position to contribute to the quality of services and to support the development and embedding of a safety culture throughout the organisation.
