Bio

I am a highly skilled Leader who has managed staff, significant workplace transitions and complex service delivery for almost 35 years. I have worked in the public, private and non-profit sectors and have spent the majority of my career in the Career Development and Employment Services Sectors. In October of 2021, I left my full time Executive Director position with North Island Employment as I felt it was time to leave the organization where I have spent most of my career and give others the opportunity to lead and take the organization where it needs to go next. It has been inspiring to lead an award winning organization of extremely talented staff and managers and to serve the communities where we live. The experience was highly rewarding and challenging and I loved every minute of it! I am now shifting my focus to a broader type of support to the Non-profit, Career Development and Employment Services Sectors. I have started Val Meaney and Associates to provide consulting, mentorship and advice to organizations to assist them in being strategic, in managing change and being responsive to the needs of communities and funders.
