I am an organization design & development consultant, author, leader of the LCD Group, and keynote speaker. My current goal is to keep supporting conservation and sustainability nonprofit organizations and related for-profit efforts. There's no greater meaningful possibility for my work than helping in my small way to change the course of the future of ecosystems and our planet. “It's been so valuable how you've shown up - with curiosity, flexibility, hard work, a capacity to gently steer and coach. When the ride does come to an end, we'll be further and better placed than we ever could have been without your efforts.” S. Elkins, Sierra Club When it comes to how I contribute to the world, two things matter to me the most: -- Unleashing who people are at work and -- Enabling complex change for organizations making a positive difference in the world. I believe no one or no organization should stand in the way of a person maximizing their strengths, impact, and contribution to the world. As a consultant, I work on strategic change projects with leadership or cross-org teams that have significant business impact. I enable teams using my strengths: making sense of complexity together, designing efficient team process, planning change through dialogue (dialogic change), assessing and framing using systems thinking, and constantly connecting the big picture and the weeds. The values that drive me are intentional leadership, unshakeable resolve, honor the story, free from labels, and integrative thinking. As an individual, my most powerful work has been supporting an 18-month adventure with the Sierra Club, identifying and recommending org-wide structural changes to make the club more powerful, using a high involvement process with a team and a decision-making process for the board. Currently, I'm on a new journey with a unit of the World Bank, identifying and changing org elements (process, structure, talent, rewards) to align with a new organization vision. I also lead a team as the CEO of the LCD Group and co-creator of the Learning Cluster Design model. This is a new model for anyone designing learning and it guides creators on how to move from creating one-and-done curriculas to surrounding their learners with learning assets for a given learning goal. My team upskills people in the model, consults on projects, and researches modern learning challenges. I am the author of Designing for Modern Learning: Beyond ADDIE and SAM, The Millennial Myth: Transforming Misunderstanding into Workplace Breakthroughs, and Your Career: How to Make It Happen.
