At Cellulant we are building the continent’s most extensive payment platform with integrations into 250+ banks and 60 MNOs and growing each day. We are seeking to make payment transactions – whether online or at a physical store or cross-border remittances more seamless than ever before. Our goal is to empower our customers – global and local businesses operating in Africa, with an ability to accept and make payments across the African region and to have access to a single integrated view of their business. Over the last 2 years, the business has transformed into a merchant-focused payments business and we have made substantial headway in productizing our services. We have achieved significant milestones on a complete revamp of our technology stack, all of which have led to a quantum leap in service levels for our customers. Our geographic footprint has also expanded from 10 countries to 18+ in Africa during this period. All of this has resulted in a 100% YoY growth in our revenues and our key business KPIs. And we are just getting started... there is a lot more to come ....tapping into the growing SMB market, lending - both to merchants and via BNPL..... Prior to Cellulant, I held multiple C-level positions at iSON, a diversified group with a presence in 30+ countries and 25000 employees in the MEA and Asia Pacific region. During my stint at iSON, I led the restructuring of its technology business, enabled multiple rounds of private equity capital raise for the BPO business and drove the expansion of the group into the ME, North and South Africa regions via acquisitions. I also played a vital role in evangelizing iSON tower – a newly created digital infrastructure platform in the Southeast Asia region. Prior to iSON, I spent 10+ years in investment banking at Ernst & Young and leading investments at the USD4bn+ TMT investment arm of Dubai Holding. I am deeply passionate about being able to contribute to the growth of entrepreneurship in Africa and Head the African chapter of TiE, a global organization with the objective of promoting and supporting entrepreneurship across the globe. I am an avid angel investor. I am spiritual; believe in the law of karma and in the naivety that Good will eventually triumph over Evil.
