I work within the Data Economy, Data Strategy & Analytics, and Digital Transformation field. I originally transitioned from the academic world into Industry by way of mathematical & computational work in neural networks. Later I took on a more lead role helping coordinate the deployment of the Big Data infrastructure for an electric utility company and building their Data Analytics & ML programme. Most recently, I became the Chief Data Officer for the Spanish Government, whereby our mission is to design and coordinate the implementation of a national data infrastructure layer (sometimes also called the 'InfraTech' sector) across both central government and key national industries. We do this via the analysis and prescription of reference architecture models for sovereign data spaces built atop innovative declarative models for trusted cloud (this last being the reason why I am currently chairing the Governmental Advisory Board to Gaia-X).
