Transitions have been a common theme throughout my life, which is part of the reason I love the work that I do every day, helping others through their career transitions.

Straight out of college, I started working internationally in the media industry. I managed 3-4 month long projects in Europe, Africa, the Caribbean, and Middle East producing country reports to promote investment and new business to the country. It was a great opportunity to travel the world and learn about the global economy, investment, and how business is done in different countries.

Throughout my career, I've had a chance to work in public relations, project management, operations, advertising, communications, video production, branding, sales, event management, and program management. I spent 6 years in Abu Dhabi where I worked in public relations and corporate communication during a time when the city was heavily investing into its international image and brand. I also learned multiple languages along the way (some more useful than others!) but each critical in understanding multiple cultures, different business communities, and seeing things from multiple perspectives; all skills I incorporate into my daily tasks and responsibilities. I also taught French for 4 years and keep it up by teaching my children to be multilingual.

As a military spouse, each move taught me the importance of building relationships and creating partnerships. I was thrilled to have the chance to launch a chapter of the Hiring Our Heroes Military Spouse Professional Network together with a group of career-minded military spouses while we were stationed in California. This volunteer role led me to discover a passion for advocating for greater employment opportunities for arguably one of the most transient communities - military spouses and transitioning service members.

In my current role with Hiring Our Heroes, I look for opportunities to connect candidates with employers, create partnerships, build relationships, network, teach and train, lead teams, and enjoy kickstarting projects and work with the team on our strategic planning for further growth and development of our programs.
