A Managing Director, INSEAD MBA, Oxford University graduate, and former Bain & Company Manager and British Army Officer with extensive P&L, commercial and operational experience; in an 8 year military career awarded a Distinction, Best Officer or Top 5% pass in every career course taken. At Funding Circle, currently lead the UK business and responsible for strategic direction and overall commercial performance. Joined Funding Circle pre-IPO as UK Strategy Director, before also taking on the roles of Commercial Director and then also Change Director with responsibility for driving commercial performance across the UK business, setting strategic plans, developing and launching new product propositions and managing programme delivery. Have also had spells leading the Marketing, Brand and Operations teams in the UK and Europe. As Services Director in the post-acq management team at Maplin, delivered P&L growth of 400% gross profit in Year 1, making Services the fastest growing part of the business. Introduced 5 new service propositions and expanded 2 previous services internationally; optimised operational performance to achieve more than 100% increase in individual service revenues; negotiated up to 20% reductions in costs with long term suppliers. As a Manager at Bain and Company, advised senior client leadership across a range of B2C and B2B companies (including financial services, business information, oil and gas, utilities, health and education) and capabilities (corporate and business unit strategy, organisation, salesforce effectiveness, cost reduction, operational efficiency, performance improvement, programme management, post-merger integration and implementation).
