I am a data scientist, data engineer, and application developer with extensive experience in using machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques, based on insights from big data, to communicate actionable decisions to management to help generate a competitive advantage. The most limiting factor to the impact of data analysis in an organization is effective communication. As an analytics developer, I create systems and web applications that can communicate to even the most average user what stories the numbers are trying to tell. Whether these stories are told through visuals, like Tableau, D3.js, or Plotly, or provided through customizable tables that can be filtered a myriad number of ways, effective communication is the only way to guarantee action and competition with analytics. As an analyst and researcher, I have recently been expanding my grasp of text analytics, Bayesian statistics, and neural networks. This research can be found on my GitHub. Additionally, I am an avid participant in Kaggle competitions. Problem-solving with quantitative techniques has become a strength of mine as I have over 5 years of professional experience in data analysis and software engineering. I have worked as an object-oriented, full-stack software developer, mainly in ASP.Net frameworks, including C# and Visual Basic, as well as Python with Flask. I also have experience in Javascript, jQuery, AngularJS, HTML/CSS, and Boostrap. In terms of database structures, I am most familiar with SQL and its family including SQL Server, SSMS, SSIS, and MySQL/Postgres. NoSQL databases and querying languages I have experience with are MongoDB, Neo4j, Cypher, and Hadoop. I have used R, SAS, MATLAB, Minitab, and Microsoft Access/Excel (VBA) as well as Python throughout my data science education. I use Git for all of my source control needs. I currently hold a M.S. in Data Science from Northwestern University as well as a B.A. in Mathematics, with a statistics emphasis, from Washington University in St. Louis. I am a certified Associate Cloud Engineer in Google Cloud Platform.
