Bio

I have been involved in a lot of high-profile and exciting projects within and outside of Tanzania. I have worked with multinational companies and assisted them in projects across various sectors. The most exciting part of my job is to negotiate agreements with government authorities on behalf of my clients. It is very satisfying to see the hard work of months of negotiations and reviewing of terms and conditions of such contracts being signed and implemented by the relevant parties. Such contracts have created more jobs and are very beneficial to the relevant countries and the communities around such projects particularity from a CSR angle. After doing a lot of work in the extractive sector, I am now actively engaged in international arbitration proceedings with the view of resolving the disputes and ensuring continuation of projects, if possible. In summary: • I am a practicing Advocate in Tanzania with thirteen years' experience in dealing with complex legal matters relating to; mining, mergers & acquisitions, oil & gas, conveyance, energy, project finance, telecom and the overall commercial practice. • Also, I worked at Berwin Leighton Paisner LLP, London on secondment and I was involved in various international transactions relating to ADR, oil & gas, mining and capital markets and securities. • During my employment at Clyde & Co Tanzania, I have worked at Clyde & Co offices in London, Dubai and South Africa and I am continuously involved in various international transactions that Clyde & Co is involved in globally, especially relating to mining, oil & gas, energy and ADR. • I have attended a number of legal training within and outside of Tanzania with major focus on commercial laws and ADR.
