My urge to be creative and to work on something meaningful resulted in starting the software project GeoDict, The Digital Material Laboratory, in December 2001, while at Fraunhofer ITWM. The desire to be independent lead me and two colleagues to spin off our own company, Math2Market GmbH, from ITWM, in September 2011. M2M provides software and consulting for filtration, fuel cell, battery, hygiene, pulp & paper, composites, oil & gas, acoustics and insulation applications, and whenever microscopic geometric details influence the behavior of a part. Being CEO at a small company such as M2M requires and allows me to use my particular strengths: First, being interested in all facets of the business from finance, accounting, personnel, marketing, software engineering, physics and applied mathematics to all kinds of applications and second, to be able to communicate about these issues with clients as well as software engineers.
