A practical, adaptable and politically astute leader in data and digital, Andrew has over 10 years’ experience in director level positions in world city governments. In Dubai, Andrew provides strategic advice on a range of initiatives, including data governance, the responsible application of artificial intelligence, advanced data exchange mechanisms, as well as the creation of data science teams, high value use cases and production ready applications. As a Director in London's City Hall, Andrew served two Mayors and held a range of responsibiities. He led and transformed the city's data, analytics and public engagement functions. He created the Greater London Authority's Smart London team through strategy development and the delivery of high profile, community technology demonstrator projects. Andrew played a very significant role to build the business case and support for the London Office of Technology and Innovation - a collaborative vehicle designed to maximise the impact of digital, data and technology in the capital's public services and communities. Andrew frequently speaks and writes on public sector technology. He is chair of the G20 Smart Cities Alliance Open Data Policy Taskforce, and a member of the UAE-UK Business Council’s ‘Innovation, Future Technologies, and the Fourth Industrial Revolution’ working group. He has non-exec experience in a public-private sector technology investment setting.
