I am an engineering specialist in energy storage and microgrids and won the 2017 award ''Rising Star'' by Energy UK. As an engineer, I work in a highly technical way, but also work to incorporate financial, sales, commercial and procurement factors in my work. My PhD showed that even on 2014 prices, domestic energy storage reduced reinforcement costs by billions of pounds. I have written 8 peer reviewed publications on energy storage and low carbon generation. I understand energy storage and what it now enables humans to achieve. I have worked on successful business models for energy storage in the UK, Africa and Latin America. These are models which link sales, finance and engineering into one complete assessment tool. Silo working is no longer practicable. I believe in the value of data. My website, MyGridGB presents real time analysis of electricity in Great Britain. It attracts over 250,000 impressions a month on Twitter and is designed to help promote better informed decision making. I am adept to working across the world, with work experience across Africa and also in Georgia. I have spoken at international conferences, to the UK Parliament and to global companies at board level. Speaking fires me up. We now able to provide cheap, reliable and robust power to virtually any part of the world. An energy revolution is no longer a fantasy from the classroom. I am excited to be part of a team that delivers that.
