I have 2 years of Application development, integration, support, maintenance and monitoring experience since I have transitioned from teaching to the world of IT as part of the Quickborn Consulting team. Lately, I am putting my people skills to good use as part of the Blue Sky sales and marketing teams. Beforehand, my main activity and focus in the consulting team was monitoring and supporting Oracle Retail Managament Systems. My responsibilities included monitoring client systems remotely, analyzing problems detected by monitoring solutions, as well as recommending and implementing solutions to problems discovered, adapted to client specific requirements, procedure rules and criteria. I have learned programming at a one-year, full-time intensive course at Codecool Ltd. in Miskolc, after spending four years in my original area of expertise - which is teaching English and German - in schools, language schools, government funded courses and privately. I had a number of opportunities to test myself in various positions beforehand, honing my people skills as a waiter, receptionist, tour guide and public opinion researcher, among others. At Codecool Ltd. I have learnt programming through working real-life examples of developing programs that integrate every aspect from frontend through database to backend, using technologies like Java, Python, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, AJAX, Servlets, Git, Maven, SQL, Bash and Linux systems. My educational and conversational skills help me connect with co-workers and clients easily, formulate my ideas clearly to be easily understood by anyone, whether a new co-worker, that is in need of training, or a client, who requires explanation of a concept new to him/her.
