Bio

15+ years of international sales experience in the construction software sector, working exclusively with Tier 1 contractors and world class asset owners The story so far? It's been a life spent working out what I want to do with myself, and being fortunate enough to have many great experiences along the way. That being said, the last thing I thought I'd end up doing in the mean time was ''sales''.... I've always been a story-teller, someone who genuinely never wanted to be the centre of attention, or the most assertive one in the group, but I've typically found myself fulfilling both of those roles in both social and work environments... Thankfully, there's never been too much objection over the years, but a sharp elbow to the side, or a knowing look, never goes a miss to keep me in check - thankfully, I've always had a knack for picking up on social cues! I guess what I've learned as I've got older, is that it's quality over quantity when it comes to contributing to any discussion, and you'll learn a lot more from listening that you ever will from talking too much I've always been a keen debater (or 'arguer' if you ask my teachers), playing devil's advocate and backing my point of view - I find it a genuinely cathartic experience and love nothing more than when I'm around people who enjoy it just as much. I've found the key to good conversation is living by the famous saying, “I wholly disapprove of what you say and will defend to the death your right to say it” it's been paraphrased over the years, and often mistakenly attributed to Voltaire, but it rings so true to me. Freedom of opinion is, a fundamental human right - but that shouldn't always mean, freedom from consequences. And I've always been a bit of a ''free thinker'' - on more than one occasion I've been asked why I'm not ''more normal'' - but rather than being offended, it's something I've always embraced. I have a habit of taking a 'unique' approach to projects, by just doing things that come naturally. Given everything I've written above, maybe I was always meant to be in Sales? Either way, it's not been a bad way to kill time while I'm working things out ;-) I'd never expected to be so open and honest on a professional platform, and I'm looking forward to the interesting and inspiring conversations to come. But I've talked enough (as usual!), how about you?
