O.G. (*old) entrepreneur who pioneered online videogames in South America, Southeast Asia and India in the early 2000’s. Knows how to structure and lead an organization of 400 people across three continents. Fluent in English. (*Portuguese, French and Spanish after a few drinks.) Ben Colayco is currently based in Irvine, California and has built businesses in the United States, the Philippines, India, Brazil, and Colombia. He is drawn towards creating and developing entirely new markets, introducing pioneering concepts and making them a reality. Ben started Level Up!, an online video game publisher for emerging markets in 2002. At the time, the concept of playing with thousands of people at the same time, in real-time, via the internet, was unfamiliar and technically infeasible, especially in countries like the Philippines, India, and Brazil. More than a decade later, after expanding from Manila to Mumbai, Sao Paolo to Bogota, Level Up! became a subsidiary of Naspers (JSE:NPN) from South Africa, and subsequently Tencent Holdings Ltd. (HKG: 0700) from China. The company joins a portfolio of brands that are responsible for some of the most played online games in the world. He has been a member of the Entrepreneur’s Organization (EO) from 2004-2016, for which he credits his personal growth and thirst for learning.
