Bio

I am a computer scientist with a Ph.D. in computer science from Stanford University with an h-index of 55 and over 10,000 citations to my papers, an inventor skilled at turning academic research into industrial practice, and a professor. Most of my work finds direct industrial applications. I am currently the VP of Research at Matter labs. I previously lead teams as the CEO of Zilliqa Research, a layer-1 blockchain, and the Chief Scientist at Brave Software, leading a lot of the innovative development across cryptography, machine learning, performance, security, privacy, and other domains. For many years I worked as a researcher at Microsoft Research in Seattle; I also taught at UW, MIT, and Imperial College London. A lot of my work can be found here: https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=jaITaUcAAAAJ. Subsequently to that, I lead the research team at the Brave browser and was the CEO of Zilliqa Research, a high-performance sharded blockchain platform. I enjoy taking cool ideas and turning them into powerful practical outcomes.
