I am the type of person that lets my curiosity lead. I have pursued interesting questions across fields from history and rhetoric to statistics and machine learning. I appreciate the telling of a great story. This curiosity has brought me to data science; a field that draws on all fields, where no question, dataset or technique is off-limits. As a data scientist, I am interested in machine learning, experimental design and extracting signal from noisy data sources (e.g. text, images, general purpose data). I thrive in settings where I am tasked with making progress on ambitious questions with available data resources or by scoping new data requirements. I have worked in scientific research in the areas of public health, policy, marketing and infrastructure and worked in the public, academic and private sector. In each of these settings I have built and managed teams of engineers and scientists around product-focused workflows. The collaborations I have managed have had major impacts on each of the environments in which I have worked.
