Benjamin Cha has 20+ years’ experience in leadership roles in property investment, development and fund management. He is also a leader serving on the boards of institutions for contemporary art, foundations, and NGOs. He is the Founder and Chair of the Seradac Foundation, a think tank and foundation focused on projects related to visual culture, the built environment, and Hong Kong. He was recently appointed to the Board of HKR International, a leader in real estate development and investment, property management, luxury hotels and other investments in Hong Kong, Mainland China and across Asia, and to the Advisory Board of WEMP Education Foundation. Ben served as Chief Executive of Grosvenor in Asia from 2015-June 2022, leading the business and capability across mainland China, Japan, and Hong Kong. During his tenure AUM for the business increased by 45%, two new joint ventures were established in the PRC and proprietary development was initiated in Japan. Prior to Grosvenor, Ben was Managing Director and Head of Global Real Estate for Greater China with UBS Global Asset Management and Co-CEO of UBS/Gemdale, a China property investment joint-venture. Before that he was with HKR International for over 11 years, ultimately as Executive Director and Head of HKR Asia-Pacific responsible for the company’s interests in SE Asia and Japan. Ben has served on various listco boards including Hanison Construction and HAECO (privatised). Ben is active with numerous not-for-profits. He serves on the board of the Urban Land Institute, the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority, and the M+ Museum. He is also on the board of Tai Kwun and the Asia Art Archive Limited, serving as co-Chair. He previously served on the Asia Pacific Acquisitions Committee for Tate and the Asia Council for the Serpentine Galleries.
