My interests are the discovery and application of machine intelligence techniques in new areas, as well as the commercialization of advanced research. One cool area is the process of taking academic research projects, and discovering the ''final stretch'' innovations, tricks and hacks that make them viable in the real world. While somewhat unrelated, my other professional interest is strategic decision-making in career and business development using machine learning techniques. The first step, of course, being the collection of data. Outside of work, I spend my time Olympic weightlifting, rowing, as well as hunting down simplified explanations and analogies for technical concepts.
