* Goal - to develop innovative technology and bring it to market. * Developed key technology used in computer systems and network switches including processor architecture, compiler technology, high-speed equalized signaling, virtual-channel flow control, wormhole routing. * Developed several research prototype computer systems including MARS, J-Machine, M-Machine, Reliable Router, and Imagine. * Collaborated with industry to commercialize this technology: worked with Intel on the IPSC, Delta, and Paragon, with Cray on the T3D and T3E, with Avici Systems on the TSR. * Founded Stream Processors, Inc. to commercialize highly-efficient, programmable signal processors * Founded Velio communications to commercialize high-speed I/O technology.
