I have had the privilege of representing the interests of clients in the U.S. and abroad throughout my career. I enjoy the complexities and challenge of balancing business and legal considerations in leveraging the best outcomes for those client. I am a dynamic and passionate legal and business leader with a strong initiative to first say “yes” and find ethical and viable business-minded solutions to support the mission of the organization. Currently, my cybersecurity and data privacy practice includes assisting clients in responding to data security incidents while ensuring compliance with state, federal and international requirements as well as managing operational and reputational impact. I also serve as International Claims Coordinating General Counsel for a global corporation overseeing professional liability and employment/management litigation, risk management and coverage issues. I have decades of experience in the domestic and London insurance markets assessing the intricacies of coverage for clients, including maximizing coverage under the policies and augmenting the relationships with insurance carriers and brokers. I develop and oversee complex insurance programs, maintain business relationships, implement cyber incident response policies and protocols, oversee risk management, engage in insurance program negotiations, manage litigated and non-litigated claims, provide client training to mitigate risk, and resolve insurance coverage disputes. Previously, I served as SVP and General Counsel for one of the largest international insurance brokers in the world focusing largely on cybersecurity, incident response, data privacy as well as coverage and monitoring of all insurance and risk related matters and claims (Errors & Omissions, Directors & Officers, Employment/Management, Commercial Liability, Worker Compensation, Cyber, Crime). I also hold the ANSI-accredited Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US), Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) and Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) credentials from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). In addition, I am also enrolled in the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater Master of Science in Cybersecurity program with an estimated completion of Summer 2023.
