Energy industry professional and technology manager specializing in carbon capture. Countries and companies have many options for reducing their carbon emissions, but carbon capture is unique in its ability to effect dramatic and long long-term reductions in CO2 emission from large industrial facilities. CO2 capture processes can be applied to base-load fossil fueled power plants and to many industrial plants such as waste-to-energy, cement, and metallurgical plants where CO2 emissions are inherent to the facility and for where there is no renewable substitute. At MTR, I am working to commercialize our membrane-based CO2 capture process and to see it deployed broadly in industry. Membranes offer many advantages in this role such as modularity, ease of retrofit, and for being environmentally friendly.
