I’m building the Data capabilities at Weights and Biases, a machine learning tools company, where I lead the analytics, data science, and data engineering functions. I also hold an adjunct faculty position at Rutgers where I teach data science and machine learning, in addition to mentoring graduate students in applied data science projects with industry partners through our externship program. I lead teams and organizations, build models, write papers and books, do analyses, teach and mentor, and architect systems to answer questions with data and mathematics. I have a career history of impacting businesses through data modeling, simulation, predictive algorithms, forecasting, and engineering. I'm a reliable leader, and a committed instigator of 'good culture'. I've held roles of Head of Data, Data Scientist, Senior Software Engineer, Data Engineering Lead, Research Scientist, Data Project Manager, and Data Visualization Engineer. I have academic experience in pure mathematics, applied mathematics, physics, computer science, data analysis, and philosophy. I have a Ph.D. in mathematics, specializing in representation theory and algebraic geometry. My personal research interests involve applications of geometric techniques to data networks and machine learning, dimension reduction, time-series data techniques, and constrained optimization. I lead a consultancy business focused on tech for social good, existential risk, data visualization, and data science research: QuasiCoherent Labs. Our team, under my direction, produced the data visualizations, illustrations, and data narratives for a popular speculative fiction book The Day it Finally Happens by Mike Pearl. I am interested in any problem worth solving, to wit, I open-source several of my ideas I lack the time to pursue on my blog: https://medium.com/100000-arrows .
