Carina Kom (she/her) is an award nominated Game Designer turned Game Producer. Now as a Game Director, she is helping teams to produce quality game content with a strong and aligned vision at the forefront. Carina is a multi-faceted game veteran having spent 14+ years working in niche indie game spaces and in AAA blockbuster games. She is also a Woman in Games Ambassador having served Diversity in Games (formerly Women in Games Vancouver) for over 10 years. She is a games industry speaker and diverse & inclusive advocate - after immigrating from Johannesburg, South Africa to Vancouver, Canada - she believes greatness is not measured by the status or position you hold but in the adversity you have overcome to get there. She has spoken at PAX Australia, Canada Games Online, SXSW, PG Connects, and many more… Plus, she is also the founding member of Vancouver's first pitch circuit called PVP Circuit; The PVP Guild's objective is to bolster Canadian talent and support more developers in reaching their goals. When she's not at her day job, or working with the community to support upcoming talent, she can be found snowboarding in the mountains or boxing in a gym. -- Hi there!
