As a technology risk partner in EY, I advise my clients on the risk and control implications of their transformation journey, including both legacy and emerging technologies. My particular interest is the ethical and control implications of intelligent automation design -- robotic process automation, machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI). As EY's Global Trusted AI leader I am in a unique position to leverage my CPA background and involvement with the EY Climate Change & Sustainability practice to consider the full spectrum of technological and societal implications in intelligent automation development. Part of my contribution to making a better working world is to work with thought leaders across industry, academia and government to develop leading practices to build and operate AI in a trusted fashion. AI’s transformative potential is high, but its risks are significant, complex and fast-evolving. Adopting a set of core principles to guide AI-related design, decisions and future innovations will cultivate both confidence and discipline as these technologies evolve. In support of that goal, I serve on a number of technical advisory committees to develop industry and regulatory standards for emerging technology.
