Experienced research manager in deep learning and its applications in NLP, e.g. Text Summarization, Knowledge Graph, Multimodal Learning. I lead the Knowledge and Language team of 10+ PhD researchers and engineers and oversee both research and productization of NLP algorithms. I also lead multiple cross-team research projects to produce state-of-the-art results and ship the technology to products such as Azure Cognitive Services, Nuance, Bing News, Dynamics and Microsoft Teams. My team has achieved human parity in CoQA, CommonsenseQA and HellaSwag, as well as first place in multiple international NLP competitions: 1) SQuAD1.0, 2) CoQA, 3) ARC, 4) CommonsenseQA, and 5) fact verification competition FEVER. I obtained my Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stanford University. I wrote the first technical book on machine reading comprehension.
