Bio

As VP of the CTO Office I am able to combine my two passions: technology and change; and cultivating talent for the future. With over 40 years of experience, I have a strong understanding of management, technology, finance, people and GRC. Part of the technology leadership team, I am responsible for ensuring we meet our financial targets and have an efficient flow of information between the tech teams and other functions. To do this effectively, I cultivate relationships across the organisation to enable alignment and action against different challenges. I am driven by a desire to transform the industry as it becomes diverse. At GfK, I speak internally and externally to share my insights into diversity issues including women’s health and disability. As VP, I am in a fortunate position where I can help and champion other members of the team as they develop their own initiatives. Groups and initiatives I am, or have been, part of include: • GfK Global DE&I Council • GfK Tech, Ops & Product Council Sponsor • GfK FastForward (UK) Sponsor • GfK Disability Champion • GfK Menopause Network member • Euromoney Institutional Investor PLC Women’s Network Founder • Governor of Frank Barnes School for Deaf Children (Business Committee Chair, Vice-Chair) Being a part of these groups is of the upmost importance as I believe it is crucial everyone accepts who they are, and who others are, creating an environment where teams can learn from each other’s differences. Diversity of thought creates a working environment to be proud of, and in doing so I hope to create a safe space for people of all walks of life to thrive. I enjoy sharing my insights and look forward to speaking at the Women of Silicon Roundabout 2022. I am also a Women In Tech Excellence Awards nominee for the years 2021 and 2022. For me, job satisfaction comes from helping others. As a mentor, I enjoy helping the younger generation as they enter the early stages of their careers. I am lucky to have great people in my team, and I want to make a difference in their lives. I pride myself on leading people to deliver results. From a professional perspective, my greatest achievement is the next generation. I am a big foodie so in my spare time I enjoy being in the company of family and friends, eating great food and catching up. I love to travel and try to spend as much time as I can in France and Australia. If I am not on a plane or in a restaurant, you will find me enjoying the Peak District with my husband and cocker spaniel.
